Birthday
It was my birthday on Tuesday. It was a low key affair.
Ariel got me the Momofuku Milk Bar book, Aliens: Infestion for the DS, and Xenophanes by Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group.

I like Spotify but I don’t think I would pay for it. I like owning music and I like owning physical CDs. I actually liked the old Zune Music Subscription idea of getting 10 songs each month and was part of the reason why I wanted the Zune HD.

For the next year I want to: a.) redo my portfolio or the 1000th time b.) start a blog. Nothing like this, something more structured and specifically about interactive media (web design, games, apps) and the user experience. It’s still very hazy but something I’m mulling over. I think my issue is too often reviews begin and end on technical specs. There are exceptions on the game side (notably Rock,Paper, Shotgun, Kill Screen, and the verbose Action Button)

I’ve been playing NBA 2K12 in spare moments. As expected, it looks better than last year and it’s a nice touch to replicate the old style presentation in the classic games. The controls and responsiveness has been tweaked in a way that’s a bit frustrating but hopefully becomes more natural.
I read the Kotaku article about the online issues and I feel for their plight but it’s still their weak point. And this is coming from a person who isn’t a online-game-playing-fanatic.

Most of the wedding planning and prep work is done. We need to make and send off a playlist and the only reason why that hasn’t happened yet is because of technical difficulties with my old Powerbook.
27 days. I don’t feel any fear. A bit of anxiety. No doubts.
